Further Extension of Deadlines for the Application of Occupational Safety and Health Rulebooks.
The latest amendments to the rulebooks in the field of occupational safety and health have once again postponed the deadline for employers to align their operations with certain obligations arising from this set of by-laws.
The new deadline for aligning employers’ internal acts and procedures in the field of occupational safety and health is 1 January 2027.
The amendments do not modify the substance of the rulebooks, but exclusively concern the deadline for their application.
The most significant obligations of employers relate to:
- risk assessment at the workplace and in the working environment;
- provision of appropriate work equipment and personal protective equipment;
- implementation of preventive, organisational and technical protection measures;
- inspection and testing of work equipment, electrical and lightning protection installations, and working environment conditions by authorised persons holding the relevant licence;
- marking defective equipment and installations with a prohibition-of-use sign where it is established that they are not suitable for safe and healthy work;
- keeping and retaining the prescribed records in the field of occupational safety and health for 6 or 40 years, as applicable.
Although the deadline has been further extended, employers’ obligations remain unchanged. Employers should therefore use the additional period to review and align their internal acts, documentation and procedures.
