Extraordinary Adjustment of the Minimum Wage – Effective 1 October 2025
As of 1 October 2025, the minimum wage per working hour in the Republic of Serbia shall amount to RSD 337.00 (net of taxes and social security contributions), pursuant to the Decision on the Minimum Wage published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, No. 67/2025.
This represents an increase of 9.4% compared to the current rate of RSD 308.00 per working hour. This constitutes an extraordinary adjustment of the minimum wage, as the change takes effect during the calendar year rather than on 1 January, which has been the usual practice to date. The initiative for this adjustment originated from the Government of the Republic of Serbia, with the consent of the Social and Economic Council.
All employers are obliged to pay salaries in accordance with this rate of the minimum wage, while the total monthly amount will vary depending on the number of working hours in a given month, as follows:
- 160 working hours – RSD 53,920.00;
- 168 working hours – RSD 56,616.00;
- 176 working hours – RSD 59,312.00;
- 184 working hours – RSD 62,008.00.
The Ministry of Finance has announced that negotiations will commence in September 2025 regarding a further increase in the minimum wage, effective 1 January 2026. The Government’s proposal is for a 10.1% increase, which would raise the minimum monthly wage to approximately EUR 550, accompanied by an increase in the non-taxable portion of wages by 20.4% – from the current RSD 28,423 to RSD 34,221.
It should be noted that these changes will affect all employers and employees, and it is essential to adjust business operations in a timely manner to comply with the new statutory requirements.
